What Are We Filled with? Wednesday May 19, 2021
	What are we filled with? Being filled with something means that our hearts and minds are being dominated by certain emotions or thoughts. It can be good or bad. It can be a momentary, short-lived experience or something that stays with us day after day, leaving a deep mark or impression on our being, on our behavior, on our interactions with others, and our view and perspective on life. Let it be resentment, anger, envy, greed, worry, fear, uncertainty, or a dream, an enticing goal, a grand project - when they take hold of our life, it is usually not for the better. Youth Role Models Wednesday May 12, 2021
	Regardless of our age, role models play an essential part in our lives, in our personal development. They inspire and motivate us to reach beyond ourselves and emulate those positive qualities we see them exemplifying in their lives. It gives us great pleasure to introduce two of our very own, Chloe McClymont and Jelani Hanson, both still in their youth, who fall into the category of positive role models, especially for their generation. Chloe McClymon attends the Webster Memorial United Church (Bodden Town) and she is the Head Girl of the Clifton Hunter High School. A member of the Savannah United Church, Jelani Hanson is the Head Boy of the John Gray High School. Family ‘Matters’! Wednesday May 05, 2021
	We pause this month to focus on our children and particularly this Sunday to focus on mothers. As such, we are drawn to a focus on the family. Traditionally, the family, as a basic unit of human existence was expected to be comprised of children, mothers and fathers. In principle and spirit, the family should be understood and lived as a mutually beneficial support system that strengthens and encourages each of its members. One is conscious that there is an idyllic image of the family as the dad, mom and children living in the white picket-fenced home. This image has been accompanied or replaced in some measure by images of varying degrees not only of the physical description of the house but also of the individuals who dwell therein. The reality is that the definition of the family has evolved from that of being individuals related by blood, marriage or adoption. please click here for more information (PDF file)

Synodical Ministry and Mission Priorities for the Period 2021-2023 Wednesday Apr 28, 2021
	The following article provides an insight into what observations and thoughts were shared by synod representatives in the daily ‘breakout group’ discussions during the 42nd Synod of the UCJCI held April 11-18, 2021, as they reflected on the past Synodical period and on the way forward. These conversations took place against the background of all the changes that have taken place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whose Voice Do I Listen To? by Mr Herman Wilson Thursday Apr 22, 2021
	Please read John 10: 11-18. Christ Jesus, the incarnate Son of God, came into this world to inaugurate the kingdom of God and to populate it with those whom God will save, that is, those who will believe in His name. These are the ones that Christ Jesus classified as His sheep. The Pharisees, to whom Jesus directed His message, were constantly questioning His identity. Despite Jesus’ responses, they frequently heckled Him and chose not to understand the significance of what He was saying. By doing so, they were hardening their hearts to the revelation of divine truth. They were not seeking to fully understand what Moses had written. Earlier, as recorded in John 5: 39, 45-47, Christ Jesus had said to them: 39 You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. Moderator’s 2021 Easter Message- Rt Rev. Dr.Gordon Cowans Wednesday Apr 07, 2021
	My Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, This Easter message comes to you in a period in which we have experienced at least a year of pandemic conditions. The corona virus has altered so much of life as we know it with much uncertainty, discomfort and illness and for some the specter of death has been a haunting reality. We grieve with those who grieve the passing of their loved ones and we stand in solidarity with those who currently face significant health challenges, whether caused or exacerbated by the direct or indirect impact of the pandemic. This Easter message is meant to remind us together that at the heart of our faith is the astounding reality of a God who chooses to live in and among people, bearing and experiencing the challenges of human life and who is in every sense acquainted with grief. Rootedness in Christ-by Jaedon Hanson Wednesday Mar 31, 2021
	Sermon preached at CIRMC Children and Youth Synodical Rally held March 28, 2021 This evening we reflect on the theme of being rooted in God. The metaphor of being rooted is one which is used often, and we understand why. The roots of a plant are important to its survival. We know that roots keep a plant embedded in the soil so that it cannot be easily moved. As I prepared for this reflection, I came across a quote that says: “When the roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind.” At some point, we would have seen the damage that strong winds can cause to plants and vegetation. In fact, only last November, Savannah experienced a tornado-like event that caused significant damage. But we have seen trees that have withstood the battering and remained grounded. In addition to keeping plants embedded in the soil, roots are the medium through which the plant receives the nutrients that it needs to survive. The deeper the roots, the greater the plant’s access to nutrients and the more the plant will flourish. There are those times when a plant becomes toppled or broken by the wind, but the plant survives or recovers because its roots remain in the soil. please click here for more information (PDF file)

Are You Available to be Used? by Ms Camile Watt Wednesday Mar 24, 2021
	“Rejoice greatly, O my people! Shout with joy! For look—your King is coming! He is the Righteous One, the Victor! Yet he is lowly, riding on a donkey’s colt! Zechariah 9:9 The prophet Zechariah, many years before Jesus walked the Earth declared that a great King would come riding on a colt and that He would lead the people into great victory. Matthew’s account of this fulfillment is seen in chapter 21:1 -3 where it states: “Jesus and his disciples approached Jerusalem, near the town of Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of them into the village ahead. “Just as you enter,” he said, “you will see a donkey tied there, with its colt beside it. Untie them and bring them here. If anyone asks you what you are doing, just say, ‘The Master needs them,’ and there will be no trouble.” please click here for more information (PDF file)

	The Cayman Islands Girls’ Brigade began Girls’ Brigade week at Elmslie Memorial United Church on Sunday under the theme “Fruitful and Overflowing: Be Faithful”.
